16th Annual Evening of Champions
THE MOST SUCCESSFUL IN RECENT HISTORY
The Chicago Tennis Patrons want to thank you all for the tremendous support at the most successful fundraiser in recent history. John Embree, President of the Chicago Tennis Patrons, was the emcee at this gala event. The Patrons and the CDTA recognized 12 different categories in outstanding contributions to tennis on and off the court in 2004. Award certificates for the 2004 #1 ranked players in the Chicago District were presented.

Tennis enthusiasts, friends and family enjoyed a cocktail reception, dinner, awards, live auction, silent auction and raffle at the Rosewood Banquets in Rosemont on Feburary 12th.

Alan Schwartz, Immediate Past President and CEO of the USTA was inducted to the Chicago Tennis Hall of Fame. Alan spoke of the future direction of the USTA to promote and develop the growth of tennis.

Both the Timmons Family Scholarship Award and the Dave Muir Scholarship recognized organizations with a $1000 tennis grant to be used for support of the junior players. Oak Park tennis Club received the Timmons Scholarship and the Five Seasons Country Club received the Dave Muir scholarship. Congratulations!
Patrons induct Alan G. Schwartz to the 2005 Chicago Tennis Hall of Fame
The Chicago Tennis Patrons is a not-for-profit organization of volunteers whose primary focus is helping kids in the Chicago District get involved in tennis. 100% of the funds raised at the Annaul Evening of Champions go to junior programs in our District.

THANK YOU TO ALL who purchased tickets or tables, donated auction items or raffle prizes and sponsored awards. The support of sponsors and the Chicago tennis community made this a fun and successful fundraising evening - the best ever!
In August of 2004, the Chicago Tennis Patrons created the Chicago Tennis Hall of Fame, the purpose being to honor tennis players, both men and women, who have achieved a special level because of their play, coaching or administration of our game.

The class of 2004 consisted of well known men and women already so honored by the Midwest section of the USTA. The 2005 honoree was inducted at the last Evening of Champions held in Chicago. All current members of the Chicago Tennis Patrons and the Chicago District Tennis Association, plus all past presidents of both groups are eligible to nominate and to vote for the upcoming class of 2006. Nominations will be accepted in September with the voting to follow before year end.
